Wool Nests

Divider.png

In 2024, I fell in love with making wool nests through the process of wet-felting.  Several evenings a week, I made a nest out of wool roving that is often used for spinning yarn.  I layered colors and bits and bobs atop a piece of foam, wetted and soaped it, and rubbed and rolled over it with a mat until it felted, nice and thick.  As I worked, I thought about what I might put in my nests--feathers, eggs, beetles, or ?  These were featured in a show at the Bellingham Food Coop in 2024.  Most sold, though I'm happy to make more any evening!
